He's now back at base in the marina. This yacht Predator has been in the marina in Kuşadası since shortly after the invasion of Ukraine. It rarely moves. Every few months they go out locally for a couple of hours, presumably to run the engines. Today was different though. It went north to a big shipyard near Istanbul a month or so ago for liftout and maintenance.
It's owned by a Russian billionaire who is presumably subject to sanctions. I don't think he ever visits but there's a full crew on board.
So what were they at today? I don't know for sure but I suspect their transit log needs renewing and they checked out of Türkiye. They spent the day skirting the Türkiye/Greece dividing line but they never strayed too far from Turkish waters. I'm presuming if the owner is subject to EU sanctions the yacht risked arrest in Greece and they stayed close enough to Turkish waters to make a run for it if approached.

Here is a photo from Marinetraffic - she seems to have a variation on a theme of an 'X' bow, which is probably good for seakeeping, but it does look rather odd (as if it got bashed in ).
