I'm currently looking at buying a seven year old Offshore 25 and wondered what the forum thought I should be offering for it. It has an Iveco 8061 SRM33 330HP Turbo intercooled 6cyl engine (2700 hours). Shaft driven through a ZF 280A gearbox. She has radar, GPS, basic sounder and VHF. Overall she is in good condition although she has been used as a working boat so she has a few chips and scratches etc, nothing drastic. The engine is in good working order and has been regularly maintained.
Assuming evrything is fine I would appreciate your thoughts on what you think she might be worth. If I decide to go for it I will of course commision a full survey. All help appreciated

Well what sort is it and who's engine.. If it's a work boat then maybe no nice fittings and toilets/ beds/ cooker/heating/hot water/ fridge/sink. Radoi/casset/fag lighter/reading lamps. So difficult to price.

No one can force me to come here-----------

You must have a figure in mind that you would be prepared to pay? Try offering half this and see what the reaction is, he can only say "you must be f*****g joking" in which case you lost nothing but it may pay off;-)

Cheap would be around 15 k fair 15 to 18 but take a while to look for the prices being asked,on here, boat trader , boats and out boards a couple of hours looking should tell you.
One thing. its only worth what some one is willing to pay.

A working boat should mean the fittings are of good quality and working .

Many Offshores are home completed and usually have Iveco's, which are often "self-maintained" by the skipper to keep down costs. I think they are just big truck engines so I doubt that 2700 hours is a problem. Unfortunately time is money to most of these owners and they will cut corners, a. to get the boat back to work and b. to save money, so be careful. Offshore make great seaboats, I have been out on 105 and 125 both on angling charters and will handle anything within reason. As for value, I would give Simon Thomas Yacht Sales a call on 01273 515085 (Newhaven), he specialises in Workboats and will have some idea on price.

Hope this helps.

Ian.
