When Brand New cost £50,000(I have reciept)
I paid £60,000 when 10 years old.
For sale now and I have already had offers over the Brand New cost.

You only have to look at my bio! <g>

"Looking at current plastic boats, I decided that cast iron roll top bath would be preferable. Drive shaft through plug hole, rudder mounted in tapholes. With prop in place, and a huge elastic band, I have enjoyed many happy hours boating"

Just occured to me, Brendan...

Your bio clearly indicates that Volvo thieved the IPS idea from you - where else did they come up with a hole in the bottom of the hull to pass a drive shaft vertically through? I'd sue, if I were you...

Bathtime

Haven't got a bath in the Sea Ray (though could presumably fill up the cuddy and have a wash if we wanted) but we used to have a bath in this old girl, which belonged to my dad in the Seventies:

Never used it, but it was a handy place for storing warps and fenders.... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Bathtime

No, but similar kind of thing. Built by Taylor and Bates of Chertsey in the 1920's, and very similar to Silvers of the same vintage.

Alas, Dad sold her in the mid-seventies although we heard of her from time to time thereafter. Coming home to our mooring on the Beaulieu River last summer, I saw a very similar craft on the visitors' moorings at Bucklers Hard. Went down later on to see if it was her, but she'd gone by then.

We had some great times on her. Even in the seventies, she was a classic craft, and used to attract a lot of favourable comment wherever she went. Entering harbour anywhere meant that all eyes were on us - but luckily, Dad was/is a master helmsman - a boat that size (55ft) creates a lot of damage if it hits anything!

Re: Bathtime

Haven't heard anything of her for about 15 years, since my brother came across her, out of the water and having some work done, in Scotland. Would love to know if anybody has seen her more recently, though I suspect she'll need to have had some serious money spent on her since then, to have kept her in commission.
