Following on from the what jobs did you do on Saturday thread I thought I would turn it round.

So what jobs do you still need to do before you can reasonably be said to be in-commission and when are you due to launch.

For me. (and leaving aside the top up with water type jobs!!)

Another coat of AF round waterline and edges
wash, Polish and wax the hull, cockpit, cabin sides
change the engine impellor
replace Genoa halyard
clean the teak decks
collect the sails from sailmaker and bend on.

Got 2 weekends - domestic obligations on 1 day on each weekend. Going to be tight.

Wash and Fabsil on spray hood and cockpit tent
Wash, polish and wax coachroof area
engine impeller
finish antifoul on prop and odd bits inc bow thruster props
fit the anodes
get and bend on sails
clean teak decks and put boracol on them
clean and antifoul log impeller
replace anchor and chain

Put in ear plugs in case yard are tuned in to very loud radio 1 again (or am I the only one driven mad by constant repetition of what's currently in the charts?)

Finish installing soundproofing around the engine bay.

Refit all the ancillaries - water, fuel, electrics, bilge-pump hoses, throttle cable - removed to facilitate the above. Including fabricating new mounts for the fuel filters and water strainer, and running all new hoses for fuel and water.

Splice the new anchor line onto the chain, ensuring that the joint will pass through the windlass, and measure and mark the rope.

Reconnect the autopilot compass.

Refit the anchor locker lid, with a new catch.

Obtain and fit a new axle for the sheaves in the end of the boom.

Refit the headlining panels inside the lockers all the way along the starboard side of the boat (front one needs to be modified to let cables through).

Varnish and reinstall sundry items of interior woodwork - including new light and speaker units that will need wiring.

Bend on sails.

I also want to make and install a pair of grab handles on the windscreen, but that's not required before being "back in commission", and will probably happen during the season.

Plans made for sailing at Easter, and I work full time with only one day's leave left to take :ambivalence:

If you're offering to help, I've got almost everything left to do. But 6 weeks to do it.

Fix stainless steel D-section to rubbing strake.
Finish scrapping off old varnish from external teak woodwork and sand, then leave to weather.
Reinforce the aft end of the keel rib as advised by a surveyor.
Take existing cushions to upholsterer as patterns for making new ones. Delivery will be after launching.
Re align the waterline for the boot top and antifouling as she sits slightly bow down in the marina and repaint boot top and antifouling.
Compound and polish the topsides again as not quite perfect when done last year.
Compound and polish all the deck gel coat, the cockpit may have to wait until afloat.
Change fixing bolts for the sacrifial anode.
Have vinyl name and makers stickers cut and fixed (all old ones removed at present).
Remove existing halliyard and genoa winches on the coachroof, fill the holes, and then use the self tailing genoa winches as more powerful halliyard winches.
Repaint the non slip deck paint. *
Fix synthetic teak panels to cockpit. (Old Treadmaster has already been removed.) *
Remove fore hatch and fit new fore hatch. *
Repair the lift fittings on the spinnaker pole as one pulled out due to corrosion. Luckily I have some stainless steel tube of very similar diameter I can use for internal pads. *
Fit single line reefing on the mainsail. *
Strip headlining from forward cabin and replace with new. *

The starred items may have to wait until in the water as they are not critical, but most will be completed over the next few weeks (hopefully). I am expecting a little slipage in launch date from the end of March to possibly the end of April as there is so much to do to get the condition I want on my 35 year old boat.

Polish the cockpit interior.
Put the running rigging back up.
Bend on the sails.
Restock the drinks cabinet.
Raise the ensign and burp the stern seal.

:)

Re inflate the dinghy and store on transom
Bend on the sails and re fit the stack bag/lazy jacks
Re fit the bimini and tension bars
Replace the eye nut for the starboard guard rail gate which sheared on the weekend (luckily it was a fairly controlled situation!)
Fill both water tanks and check strainers for water/shower/bilge pumps are all clear
Check fuel filter water trap

Go Sailing (being optimistic maybe to think Sunday could be the day!)
