It looks like your mates can lock you in; and they probably would after you've had a good curry the night before.

This may be the sadist post on any thread but is that in the yard at the top of Thorney channel? I can't remember what I went upstairs for but I remember a bog I used over 10 years ago!

Our “facilities” for Berth holders at Port Solent Marina are reasonable enough, and even have security access.

What amazes me is the way berth holders treat them, or rather use them. When most are paying over £ 5K pa for a finger berth I have to puzzle what kind of person has still to learn how to flush the loo correctly or use the correct amount of bog paper ?

It’s the sort of thing you normally associate with the mobile toilets at Glastonbury Music Festival or the departure lounge in Cairo Airport.

Is it some kind of sweet revenge for paying marina berth fees ? The alter ego of professional people during the week, turning into naughty little boys at the weekend ?

Or maybe this sort of thing is common place in other marinas ?

I really wish I had not admitted to remembering where it was! I may never live that down.

What is the correct amount of bog paper? I cant believe it's a consistent amount:

e.g. if you have just a little poop, almost as though you didnt really need one, a couple of pieces... (my mum used to complain about how much we used when we were kids, and she always said that 2 pieces was plenty???).

If you've been eating the right kind of food, and things come out reasonably medium in terms of hardness/softness, maybe a few more pieces.... 5 or 6.

Then there's the one where you think you've finished and just as you're doing your belt up, you discover you hadnt... so that's going to be a good 12 pieces or so.

The morning after a night on the ale, followed by a big curry.... there's usually not enough on the roll, and you have to sneak into another stall to get some more.

So what is the "right" amount of bog paper.... and how do you know how much they are using, (individually I mean)?

Re: What is the correct amount of bog paper?

Because they leave most of it unflushed!!

I think it's probably the men! Have you seen the state of toilets in a pub? Womens, mainly clean, mens swamped and filthy, even after the peeps have cleaned them an hour before! Come out here on the rig and see the filth men are prepared to live in, toilets just not flushed, why not? just bone idle and somebody else will clean it up, pigs! Women just wont do it. IMHO.

Re: What is the correct amount of bog paper?

At school, they insisted we use both sides of the paper.

[or was that just for writing paper?]

Waterford Harbour Marina has NO facilities or security (that works), at all, and this is the venue for the start of the 2011 tall ships.

Yep, spot on. The new middle class not quite as they used to be?
