Hello,
I would like to add an electric inline pump to my Whale foot operated pump, I read Whale instructions for both products and they are contradictory.
The inline pump instructions say to position the electric one between water source and foot pump (and specifically not the other way around)

The foot pump instructions say an inline electric pump should between the foot pump and the faucet

To anyone having a similar setup which is properly functioning, in what order do you have the two pumps?
These things are hidden deep under my sink furniture and it is awkward to work on them, I would like to fit it correctly first time.
thank you

I don't think it will make any difference. Both pumps must allow through flow when they are not operating - The foot pump through the valves and the electric pump past the impeller.
The electric pump is not self priming so you might have to operate the foot pump which can either push or pull water up to the tap.
I have an electric pump first and a flipper pump at the tap and that works just fine.

I've got a whale tip toe foot pump and have a whale in-line electric pump between it and the water tank. I suspect the the other way round, the electric pump would struggle to 'suck' the water through the foot pump.

I've just spoken today to a technical chap at Whale Marine in NI, as I have a related but slightly different requirement and needed more detailed help than the generally helpful guy at the chandlers could provide.

If you want complete certainty, then give them a call.

Thank you all.
Yes I might send Whale an email.
It's for sea water, all the area where manual/electric pumps are is below the waterline they should remain primed all the time, and ok using the foot pump just after having put the boat back in the water after haul out.
Interesting idea to put them in parallel, though it will need a number of T's, clamps, etc, why not, I'll see if there is enough space available.

Unsolicited advice: Use Y's instead of T's, the water flows a lot better.
