Westerly?

There's loads of them in our club. They suit the tiny drying harbour.

Stormfinch is a Westerley Pageant as is the third boat out in the raft.

Thanks everyone, but it now transpires that the boat I was enquiring about is a Hunter 23, but looking in the HOA site I can only see the newer 23s and no pics of the older 23s which are more like the W pageant.
Would appreciate if anyone has a pic of the older Hunter 23 bilge keeler.
Thanks, C_w

No Guys this is not the boat I am talking about, I am now beginning to thing that the seller doesent actually know what it is.
I will try to get a pic of it and post it.
Seller says it is a 1972 boat. I am begining to think he meant to say a Hurley.
Thanks for your help though.
It looks almost like the pageant in the pic above only it has 2 lbigger side windows and 1 smaller window at the forecabin

No just checked and its definatly not a Hurley, so it must be the older Hunter 23.

so it must be the older Hunter 23.

[/ QUOTE ] The older 23' Hunter was the 701 but that still looks nothing like a Pageant or your description.

A photo or three would be a good idea. Include one of the sail insignia if possible.

Now yes that is almost identical, except the one I am talking about doesent have the big plate on the prow and doeent have a high set fore hatch, and does have a rubber rubbing strake.
But I think it is a seamaster.
Will try to get some pics today.
Thanks again guys, C_W.

It is still possible that it is a hunter, as that is what the seller said it was, but I couldent find anything like it in the hunter site.
Will keep working on it.
Thanks VicS.

Our old Seamaster 23 didn't have a plate on the prow, had a flush fore hatch and had a white rubber rubbing strake. They came in fin, bilge or lift keel varieties. I think most were fitted originally with a Bukh 10hp diesel engine, but I suspect many will have been replaced by now.

Not a Seamaster 23 because thats a mobo but there is no doubt in my mind that it is a Seamaster Sailer 23. The more you look athe pictures the more you can see that it is. The raised side decks and the offset companionway for example

Since it was designed by Laurent Giles you'd expect it to be very similar in handling and performance to a Pageant
looks like a Pageant too but predates it by a couple of years

Slightly smaller mains'l, slightly larger no1 jib, slightly smaller genoa more or less the same draft

Because its not a Westerly the price will be a bit lower than a Pageant

Seamaster Sailer 23
