I sailed one of those way back, owned by a guy called Nick, he dissappeared down towards Spain to live on his illgotten gains from the Life Assurance business.;) Bought it using his commissions. Think it was named "Overide" or similar.
It sailed extremely well.

Dont know if you remember but we spent almost a year living on ours in Haslar Marina. Been lots of places since! :cool:

I don't have any difficulty comprehending sensible questions - but your question is not really a question.

Neither I nor others are mind readers. Suggest you ask very clearly what it is you want to know. AvB is not a question and you will not get any sensible answers if you do not ask what it is you want to know.

The differences and similarities of the two boats are a matter of fact which you can easily find out. They were aimed at the same market and both sold well, so obviously some people preferred one and some the other. Same today as Kelpie has already said.

Why do you want to know any more? Are you thinking of buying one, and if so do you want to know why others would choose one rather than another for your intended use? or do you want to know which is more reliable/better built or has the best colour upholstery?

Just give people a clue about what it is you want to know and maybe then you will get responses.
 
Any Boat A vs Boat B discussion is tricky unless you find yourself in the company of someone with equal experience of both boats - Unlikely with two boats as similar as the Moody & Westerly.

I've just done a custom Google search of the ybw domain using the terms "westerly corsair moody 37" and excluding anything posted in the last month, to avoid this thread.
No sign of a previous discussion specifically about those two boats. Obviously they have come up in various threads but if you have a link to a specific discussion, that would avoid a lot of going round in circles.

If you don't know when it was that what chance have others finding it an trying to answer your question?

Why don't you simply write a few sentences saying why you are interested in the two boats and what you would like to know about them?

I contribute to many threads, often on this subject. Having just re read the whole thread I am not sure it is the one that YOU cannot remember as it is not a comparison between a Westerly and a Moody, but about whether a Moody (376/37) would meet the OPs requirements. There is only one specific mention of a Corsair from an owner.

So no opinions that have "mellowed or changed" to consider. The thread is good on the merits of Moody as a long term cruising boat, though. Pretty sure you would find similar comments about the Corsair if you asked owners as the two boats were direct competitors when they were built.

One of the reasons I contribute to such threads is that when I was buying a boat for cruising the Med, both those were on my list with the Moody the first choice. However when I chartered one to find out if it would be a good choice, I realised it would be a mistake for what I wanted and bought a Bavaria instead which turned out to be a very good decision.
 
I have owned a Corsair and a Moody 38.

Took both to the Caribbean and the Med as long term liveaboards.

Loved them both and would go again with either one.

Might help the OP as he seems confused as to what he really wants to know!

Yes, you often seem confused, perhaps because you limit your "questions" to a string of words that often have no meaning, so it is very difficult to know what it is you want to know.

There are conventions in the English language that require the use of sentences with a subject, verb and object, which together with the vast choice of words available enable us to communicate accurately what we would like to know. So perhaps if you thought through your question and then put it into words in a sentence structure you would appear less confused and might even get some useful responses.
