There isn't a "standard" sprayhood but you may find one of the larger suppliers has patterns for your boat. Have a look here cjmarine.co.uk/manufacturer/westerly/ or here tecsew.com/sprayhood-gallery/page/18/

However you may find it cheaper and more convenient to go to a local supplier who will come and measure your boat and make one to your requirements. Be aware they are not cheap, particularly if you need a frame made.

just wondering - with W33 having the mainsheet come down into the centre cockpit, has anyone been somehow been able to create a full centrecockpit enclosure ?

just we've been thinking of possibly moving up to a W33 or Pentland and we love them but our main sticking point is we can't figure out if its possible to have more shelter for the helm in bad weather ?

Always a compromise. Those boats were deigned before full cockpit enclosures were common. Equally not common to have such things up when sailing. However in reality on passage you are more likely to be using your autopilot than standing behind the wheel. If using the enclosure in harbour the mainsheet is unclipped and moved to the toerail or other strong point on the side deck. Later designs of boats tend to have the mainsheet down to a track on the coachroof, but doubt that is possible on the Westerly because of the length of the boom.

ah - thanks Tranona (y) - yeh I guess having the main somewhere out of the way at least could give us chance for shelter on mooring/harbour if we got one made - and I guess we'd just huddle under the spray hood with autopilot on a bad weather passage

Our cockpit enclosure works like that. We clip the main to the jackstay with a strop that lives 8n a hand locker when we put the tent up. We have once motored with it up, but visibility is rubbish, it was frankly a bit scary.

I’ll give them a go.
Was wondering about an update to the standard sprayhood though. The idea would be that it goes a bit further back with Perspex panels on each side, and a drop-down zip panel that reaches down to the cockpit floor, giving enough space to stay in the cockpit beside the washboards out of the weather, but still be able to see what’s going on while sailing. Binned the idea of a full length cockpit cover as we don’t think it can be used on passage. Nowhere local seems keen.

If you don't have the frame already then there is not really a "standard". Discuss with the person making it exactly what you would like and if it is feasible they should be able to make it. Pity you are not in an area where there are lots of choices of canvas workers who are used to custom making.

We had a similar, but smaller problem with our Snapdragon. Our compromise was to accept that we'd have to fold it away under sail, but it was still well worth it.
