I am thinking of changing my boat for something just a little bit bigger (very restricted on my current mooring) and quite fancy a small westerly. However due to my sailing area I really prefer a lifting plate/keel. I feel sure that somewhere in the distant past I have seen advertised a Westerly 21...Jouster??? with a lifting keel. Would be grateful if anyone knows of such a thing and if so what the draught is
Many thanks.

Daytons Guide to Yachts of Yesteryear says:

LOA 21'
Length Waterleline 18'3"
Beam 7'6"
Draft 5'7"
Displacement 2200lbs
Ballast 1000lbs
Sail area 197 sq ft
Max headroom 4'7"

"Introduced in 1971 with fin or lifting keel options. Lifting keel reduced draft to 3'6". Production ended in 1975."

There was a fin keeled version for sale at Dell Quay Marine recently. PM me if you would like a photo of it.

I have a W21 with twin bilge keels. It draws 2'9". Lovely boat with up to 5'10 headroom and an amazing amount of space down below. PM me if you want any more info. Rab.

Rabbie's right of course. the Jouster (which I gave data for) is not the W21 originally known as W Warwick.

My book of mouldy oldies (and some not so mouldy) says of the W21:

Designer Laurent Giles
LOA 21'6"
LWL 18'9"
Beam 7'9"
Draft 2'9"
Displacement 3700lbs Ballast 1680lbs
Sail Area 210 sq ft

Headroom 5'10"

Twin keel design introduced in 1970. Uprated W21 introduced in 1977. Production discontinued for Warwick in 1976 and W21 in 1979.
