Hi, has anyone (especially any one in Aussie) bought anything out of America via West Marine Catalogue.
Any of the pity falls if there are any would be appreciated.

I've bought West Marine stuff from quite a few different places in the world (not Oz tho). Excellent service. Had one cock-up with a duplicated item - they sorted out all costs, taxes incurred & credited my visa account just like that - even let me keep the duplicated item !
Shipping costs can be relatively high on large (heavy) consignments - you could try nominating your own shipper ( your responsibility as to delivery/ lost items etc). I've done this with Defender (another US operation who ship worldwide) and saved $100's. Having said this, West may negotiate a better rate than is shown in the catalogue for bulk quantities.

As you can gather, I rather rate them.

I've got an excellent service from West Marine, to Spain though.
Of course the shipping costs are high, but I got my stuff within one week. I could not even dream getting all my material from any european, let alone spanish mail order, in such a short time.
... And free of error at that!
