Anyone know of someone in the W Country who could repair/refurbish a Henshaw Traveller ? It leaks and needs the protective coat on the underside of the tubes removing and replacing (gone all guey and stuck to the deck and also to my boxer dog !).

Having posted in praise of Henshaw on this forum last year I am now truly hacked off that they no longer repair boats they manufacture. Pretty shoddy IMHO. They suggested someone in Lymington but am loth to pay for carriage when I could have driven it to Wincanton.

Any recommendations gratefully received

I know Poole isn't true West Country but if you don't have success nearer to home, try: David Coles, Liferaft and Inflatable Services, Unit N5, Arthur Bray's Yard, West Quay Road Poole, telephone/fax 01202-666447. I can recommend his work.

Contact Henshaw Inflatables themselves - they are on a trading estate in Wincanton, just off the A303. Very convenient!

Thanks GGToo - so I thought - we've driven dinghies to them before. Now they tell me they don't do it themselves. I have had an email reply from the MD saying the chap in Lymington is their agent, in the same way Avon have agents, but the girl on the phone merely said "We don't do it through lack of space. There is someone who does ... and he's quite good". Not quite the same thing IMHO and anyway I don't want to pay for a carrier.

That's NOT what Kerri said - she walked round for a couple of weeks with a white sticky bottom - maybe I should have scraped it off and tried to stem the leak in the dinghy with the rubbing strake goo !
