West Coast Scotland - Information Required

.
I have given up trying to keep the main BlueMoment directory up to date as it is too big a job for one person . . . but I am hoping to keep its more modest descendant, Sail Argyll, up to date.

What have all these ramblings got to do with sailing?other than they wouldnt last 5 minutes in the Lounge.
I personally have better things to do with my time than fall out in cyberspace!

I'm fascinated, Dave-Shafa, what facilities would LGBT sailors seek that would not also be appreciated by sailors of other persuasions? Do you have any evidence of sexuality or gender based discrimination on the west coast?

A couple I know had a long running run-in with a Posh Yacht Club near Edinburgh which was happy to accept them as members but whose regalia secretary insisted that couples were entitled to one (1) tie and one (1) headscarf and not, under any circumstances, two (2) headscarves. That's the East Coast, though.

I suppose it was a bit too hopeful to expect a sensible answer to what was a serious question. However I note your website has lost its reference to LBGT sailors so I assume that you are no longer concentrating on that niche market.

Wrong again! I have a link to http://gaysailing.org.uk/
Welcome to the Sailing & Cruising Association. We are a dynamic LGBT sailing and powerboat club that has been active since 1980, open to all who either own boats or just want to get afloat.

And a link to http://www.highlandlgbtforum.scot/

I see your in Edimburgh your club is http://www.lgbthealth.org.uk/ I believe?

IIRC you had overt mention previously rather than the obtuse ones you mention.
Now, how about answering my questions?

Mr Shafa - way back somewhere near the start of your ramblings in this post you posted -
P.S. My Directory will be giving advice to those sailors on the Scottish Coast who are LGBT lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender.

All I am asking is - what do you envision the advice encompassing and how would this differ from advice to the general sailing diaspora?

Perhaps I was overambitious in my goals. I am the last person in the world to give advice to anyone except yourself.

May I point you to this site where you will learn a lot more factual info than from me.

I can imagine it being of some interest to know which restaurants, bars, hotels and B&Bs are LGBT-friendly.

I would imagine it is the other way round. Which are blinkered or stupid enough to be unfriendly?
Dave-Shafa seems on the face of it to be ideal to do the research except that if he has problems with unfriendliness with the THA, it may be indicative of his personal difficulties.

Paul Fascadale you are an refreshingly pleasant chap I have found and an excellent sailor.
What I find difficult to fathom is your insistance on flying the flag of the Communist EU - AND defacing our own dear Saltire.

Should your ship come within my guns range, wearing your EU ensign, this will be taken as an act of war.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geneva_Convention_(1929) will apply.
