Northern Coast Scotland - Information Required

As many of you will know in 1997 I built the largest repository of Wedding information [See my About Us page for detail]
Now I have turned my attention to Sailing and Boating on the West Coast of Scotland.

There are innumerable websites covering this very subject BUT dear reader they are constrained by advertising or the laws of libel.
What I want is the TRUE story. e.g. The attitude of the Toberymory marina gezzer or what company is a ripoff ......you know you want to.

When I was making my Wedding directory, I found one enterprising chap had copied the lot and was attempting to make money off my back.
The directory paid my way through Uni, I called his number and spoke as it happens to his dear Mother and asked her to convey the message
that if he did not delete the website, I would come down and brake his legs.

Anyway enought of the chit chat the info required ...... - Marinas - Anchorages - Pubs - Insider knowlage -
the stuff NOT in the regular publications TIA
P.S. Anything dodgy can be PMed to me.

My new website Sailing section is awaiting your input http://www.davehighland.scot/
See Menu at top for About Us and Sailing section.

How about including the East Coast. There is a dearth of information of this sort over here too.

Once again, you have chosen this public forum to slag off an individual who is personally well known to many on this forum for his friendly and helpful nature.

He has? Kindly amplify.

The thread is clearly a veiled personal attack on a poster with whom the OP regularly tangles in The Lounge and who already runs a similar site to the one proposed.

Golly, two Lounge attacks masquerading as disinterested proposals at the same time. I think I preferred it when they stuck to drooling over the UKIP manifesto. Well, not drooling, but the swear filter can be a bit sensitive.

Can I recommend Blue Moment, excellent site, long established, well managed with interesting contributors, no slander and nothing at all to do with weddings, just the thing for anyone on the West Side of Scotland.

Wrong. I do not run any website, nor do I have any interest in one. No, I just think that it is very unfair on a public forum to make a personal attack on an individual who is well known to the West's sailing community. As with the OP's previous comment made against the same person in the earlier "worst harbours" thread, no explanation has been given.

It is rude and very bad form in my view, quite apart from being an abuse of the privileges that this forum gives us.

Unless the OP puts up and makes the nature of his allegations known and substantiates them, then I believe that he should have the good grace to withdraw his comment.

I am thoroughly confused by this thread.

Is the OP suggesting that a wiki-type site is created to compile crowd-sourced sailing information? Because that would be useful, and I would contribute to that.

I wasn't thinking of you.

Ah, a hundred thousand apologies. Must admit I hadn't thought of the possibility that it was a way of getting back at "the other one", but let's just assume that it's well-intentioned. I can't speak for "the other one", but I'm sure His Webbiness won't mind competition from Dave's or any other site There are already some very good websites with lots of detailed info on the West and another won't do any harm.

Hi Kelpie, 2009 when I did the west of Skye I only got as far as Loch Harport. I had sorta followed The Malts up there. This year I may drop in. I am a non-drinking Pescatarian.
I too am thoroughly confused by this thread.
