Were'nt you at Trafalgar?

Were you sin binned?

I thought you had been - I'd noticed a similar thread earlier, then nothing.

Incidentally, noticed four Jimis, but only one Sgeir.

Re: Were you sin binned?

I did request a name change to Gornoffinahuff but the moderators have shown a strange lethargy to activate.

It was the British Navy by that stage, so I never quite understood the "England expects..." stuff.

But looking at the "Mc*" surnames (usually just "Mc" rather than "Mac") there were several hundred of them, mainly from Ireland and Scotland. Similarly with other surnames like Robertson from Scotland, or the O'*, that well known family from Erin's Isle.

I'm still wondering about that surname Jimi came up with. Is he still Googling for dirty words?

Re: England expects?

Don't forget Ireland..

Maybe a distant relation on my dad's side:

John Roach aged 31 born in Waterford, Ireland.
Ship: HMS Spartiate
Rank/Rating: Ordinary Seaman

Seven more Irishmen with the surname Roach there too...
