If you look at a satellite view of the harbour on google, you'll see a kind of spit where the western end of the breakwater meets the beach, directly opposite the boatyard. This is where the BBQ area is. You'll also see that the pontoon in the NW corner of the harbour has a walk ashore onto this spit. To walk to it from the harbour office though, you'd have to go across the bridge and carry on along the road until you can double back along the beach, about half a mile, maybe more.
From memory there's a handful of permanent BBQ's, so you just need to take charcoal and food.
