Hi everyone, just picking up the threads of this one. I'll do some work on it over the weekend and see if I can get a few berths booked in Yarmouth.. please let me know if you're definitely interested. Paul and Howard, I know you are and I'll factor that in, I'll check the replies so far ad create a list on the first page.. remember, you can come along for the Beer and Natter too if you don't fancy the cycle ride, it's been ages since we've had one and I can still look to book a berth for you.
You know I said I'd keep charitable giving out of this one, well, I am but........... I've just signed up to do something a bit special again this year to help the Samatitans, an amazing organisation that have helped many a thousand desperate souls over the years. The special bit, or nutz bit more like, is I am going to ride the longest distance I've ever ridden over a pretty challenging route, the same as our Olympic Cyclists did when we held the event in the UK. 100 miles through London and Surrey on the 30th July. those that know Boxhill know the sort of challenge I am faced with for a 54 year old that is currently 2 stone overweight, it's going to take a big effort to get myself into shape for this one.
I've set the initial target as £150 as this is the minimum The Samaritans have asked me to raise and hope someone on here might be kind enough to help me hit it.. I've donated £20 myself to get things started
Here's my justgiving page should you wish to donate https://www.justgiving.com/Gary-Pearson11.
Hope to see you on the IOW where we do the round the island ride "for fun" and remember, if we get enough interested, we'll hold a Beer and Natter too
All the Best Gary
