Went into The Haven Marina

We've been there a few times as visitors and found it OK. Decent fixtures & showers, and not too much noise, except once when it had a load of visiting motorboats. We had a look at the menu of the restaurant a couple of years ago and very quickly left - main courses upwards of £22. I worked in the town in the 60s, so I have a soft spot for the place.

Thought it was OK for us, we were holed up there for a few days in bad weather, at least there was plenty to do in town.
We are fans of the Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet that's about a 10-minute walk away but I can't remember what it's called!

you should have called into the Club....just behind the expensive restaurant. New people running the food side of it and the food is home made, filling and quite good for £6-8 for a main course.
beer at 2.40 a pint
a bottle of blossom hill @ 8 quid.

As Jim said the Nelson is not too far away and somewhere near to that must be a kebab house....dont ask where as i dont think i shall ever recollect where....

dust and other waste from the building site is a problem but ABP are now pestering the contractors about damage to boats....MINE IN PARTICULAR!

Was the Princess V50 there.....
what a fantastic boat......well it was to a mobo anyway

Next time you are wandering about call in for a glass of....

water

It's the people you meet that make a place good or bad.
I personaly prefer IHM to any South Coast or East Coast marina. Try the Yacht Club or Lord Nelson, excellent value and good company, can't say anything about the kebab shops, supprised anyone is still alive after eating in one, miss the old berger van though.

We are in Neptune, opposite, and I have to say - we like the wet dock. Good choice of restaurants and although the Last Anchor is pricey it's excellent. Come round our side for Pizza Express, Loch Fyne (fish) and a couple of poncey but nice coffee shops

Hey misery guts !

I like the place !

Great history, and plenty of places to go.

There's also some very interesting boats there. Particularly Spirit Yachts and some larger wooden vessels.

Definitely worth a trip.

There were lots of "souls" there on Sunday.
I went for a couple of pints in the club.
Did my usual stroll round the marina before heading off to the boat for lunch....

Took me nearly 2 hours.....

Kept meeting people and stopping for a chat......

Berthed there since they opened, never felt overlooked or in a goldfish bowl, but do realise it could seem like that though. nice place to keep a boat but must admit to thinking about getting on Levington waiting list just for a change despite those stupid mooring hoops on the pontoons.

We've got stupid mooring hoops at Titchmarsh too. They're OK for residents as we shackle our lines onto them & leave them to pick up.
