This Friday we should know the result of the Welsh Referendum. If they vote Yes, the Welsh Assembly will get an increase in its direct legislative powers, another step towards a British Federation instead of a United Kingdom. More of the political life in Wales will take place round Cardiff Bay.

Will we see the Welsh do what the Scots have done, and start their own Navy?

Not a navy, these vessels were run by the good old Min of Ag and Fish before devolution so were handed over to the Scottish Government as the Ag and Fish stuff was devolved.

letter in the Times today gave a good version of the welsh national anthem should you need to sing along - for example when being boarded at sea. Or when the Welsh teanm wins the 6 nations.

It goes " my hen laid a haddock, my hand oiled a flee" with the chorus being "dad, dad why dont you oil aunty glad"
