I am the proud owner of one of those old Seafarer logs, you know the thing where the needle swings between 1 and 10 knots even when at anchor.Well while antifouling my bottom,I had the feeling something was missing, and have just this second realised what is was.The little propeller has vanished.

Sounds like my old Land Rover speedo - usually showed 22mph when parked and +- 30mph either side of the actual speed when driven!

Were Seafarer ever owned by Lucas? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

When I had survey done on my boat the man said that the prop things missing and really the whole lot should be taken off and glassed over cos if anything clumps it it could make hole in hull and sink you.

I thought but its been like that for 30 years and it hasnt happened yet
