Could it be that for those moast likely to choose Dingle as destination this is precisely what they are looking for.

Peace and quiet and no phony cultural events staged for the tourists.

Dingle

There's always Funghi the dolphin!

Seriously tho, Dingle has great pubs, The best we found was Dick Macks, by the church on erm...church street and if you fancy a top notch meal head for The Chart House - Excellent food that worked out at £30 a head 3 fine courses and wine.

But the main reason to go there is the unspoilt and crowd free cruising ground of South West Ireland....and if that wasn't good enough one word - Guinness

Re: Dingle

Jimi, Cead Mile Failte in Eirinn.

If you don't have a good time in Dingle, it won't be the fault of Dingle. I suspect the only reason they haven't updated their website is that they are too busy cuddling up in lieu of freezing their bum's off.

Make sure you eat in Doyle's Seafood Restaurant. The bar there is nice also. There will be plenty of music to hear around the town. Try Maire de Barra's pub.

Chat up some young or auld one while there and get her to take you over Conor's Pass. The view is utterly stunning, assuming it isn't shrouded in a lickle mist!

This web site has a few decent pictures of the peninsula:

Call in to Crosshaven on the way back and I'll buy you a pint or three. Better still, call in on the way there as well.

Re: Dingle

Second Connor's Pass, and also the windy coast road out past Dingle itself. In fact the whole of the rings is wonderful driving. As is the Bass fishing off the big sandy beach further down from Dingle.

Re: Dingle

This is a trip I'm really looking forward to .. will PM you nearer the time for contact details to arrange a swallie!

Re: Dingle

Oh jimi, what have I let you in for?
Dingle Hrbr has a narrow, dregdged entrance which with your limited navigational expertise you are bound to fall foul of. Still you'll get a good look at Funghi.
A well wisher
