For nostalgia's sake here are the first 4 thru hulls Lumishore ever made. They were so precious to G (co founder) he carried them around in a fancy case! An hour after this photo there were in my Squadron 58 #2 and I'd paid Lumishore perhaps their first ever invoice with a comma in the number :). From small acorns...

Hope you took them off and kept them when you sold - they'll be collectible soon! :D

Seems a bit over the top for some one inventing lights.

Bit harsh Haydn. They employ double-figures full time workforce in South Wales and export couple of millions of pounds per annum to overseas customers. That's a decent contribution to the economy. They also risked their own time and money to invest in this project and would have got no hand outs if they'd lost it all. Credit where credit is due surely?

They don't really make lights, they make entertainment. Just like boats eh?

Best wishes by the way! Do you ever get down south? Yer man TCM is in the country early June - could have a beer?

I cant get out of the house, never mind London. My legs no longer work very well. I can some times walk about ten yards, but some times it's not safe. I've broken my collar bone, fractured my ribs and bashed my head a few times.

I can not sit up for long, I have to lay down.

Sorry for the disappointing reply, I wish it was different. The old times were the best, it will never happen again. The fun we had was amazing. At sixty five, I am useless.]

Agreed. I didn't realise that they were selling that much product. Yes that is a major achievement not only in the teeth of the worst recession most of us have ever seen but against established competition. IMHO any British manufacturing success story is worth celebrating and I hope that Lumishore go from strength to strength on the back of this award

I guess/hope that most go into the US market which must be huge, seems almost everyone near the coast has a boat, and how can they not be impressed by Lumishores products.

I don't know what a queens award is, but it seems very important :)

well done E and your team !

I'm very pleased with the L-uwl's on the boat,
they are a fundamental part of my stern entertainment area (hydrailic platform, steps, light, music and all that ....)
unfortunately I mostly use only one color on Blue Angel

big congrats !

Our company won a queens award 5 years ago.

My dad had been to the palace before and told me there was no booze.

This is a MAJOR mistake! There was free flowing Mumm Champagne and given the place was swarming with police there was no was i was going to drink much. My wife however could hardly walk!

The Queen does attend and shakes everyones hand and you get sent a picture. In addition about another 10 Royals were there for the whole evening which surprised me to say the least. The queen circulates freely with a small group of protection offices about 10 feet away and is most generous with her time. We met Derek Carter from Fairline ( nor left) and someone else we knew at the reception.

After the Palace the local Sergeant at Arms comes to your office and we got the mayor along as well.

It is a great thing to win - you get a lovely rose bowl, certificate signed by the PM ( sadly ours was Gordon Brown!) and a Flag that to this day has sat in my drawer.

So well done - it is an achievement and the experience of winning, palace etc is to be savoured ... just don't drive!

Very well done - I won one a few years ago and they don't give them away for nothing
big achievement, by everyone involved.
