Some "failure", having managed to claw back 19 hrs - Sure she will try again, and hope her sponsers got the kind of coverage that will make them stick with her for more of the same!

Strange that...

Ellen, a skilful, brave young lady (true with mega buck backing) "fails" to beat a transat record.

Beckham on the other hand plonked in front of a goal with only the goalkeeper to beat, misses from point blank range and was "unlucky" because the soil around the penalty spot was not perfect.

I suppose it is all down to interpretation!

I also was disgusted that the BBC used the word 'failed'. Isn't it typical of British media reporting that everything is viewed so negatively? I will complain via the website. Perhaps a few others may have the time to do so as well?

Thanks for the idea Becky, I just complained on their website and included about the lack of RTIR reports also.

Don't waste your time I complained to the BBC about the limited coverage of the Americas Cup, they claim we are a 'small minority', hang on! just thought shouldnt we get Lottery backing and government grants? Thats what other 'minorities' get dont they?

Anyway the RTIR probably competed for air time with something like snooker, exciting stuff.
