Well today was odd. Finally after months of dicking about and a false start, we finally took ownership of our new boat today, but of course cannot actually take delivery. Converted a chunk of cash into GRP. Swanwick marina is shut, usefully they have happily postponed the berth until life opens up again so kudos to Premier for that, and the supplying dealer has mothballed the boat so we can start afresh when life allows, with the warranties running from then.

So a Happy / not Happy day. At least we and our kids are alive and well.

Keep safe folks.

Sounds like a win-win situation in the current climate. Congrats on the new boat.:)(y)(y)

At least you won't have any sails to put on now. Hope you don't miss the Bav too much and we have a season to enjoy. Happy motoring one day down the Hamble and don't create too much wash of course when you are released from Swanwick. Can spend the time buying extras though of course.

Yes this was the best outcome under the circumstances really. Ensures that my money is safe (or as safe as any GRP asset), the title is clear and in my control.

:) I'll do my best. I'm spent out at the moment so no extras for the next year or so.

Scalia, what have you bought?
Another Bavaria and to keep things simple we've kept the name from our last boat. It's an S40 Hardtop. I was attracted to these last year so when the Sealine SC42 fell through we went and had another look. It's this one:
Bavaria S40 HT

Decent enough spec. although TBH I'd have preferred the bigger engines, but this should be fine for our needs. We've added warm air heating.

I think you probably did the wise thing there. If I'd have placed a deposit with a dealer a few months ago on a new boat, I'd be really worried in the present circumstances whether I'd see either my new boat or my deposit back again. I bet the dealer is chuffed you went through with the deal as well. Lets not talk about what this current situation is going to do to the secondhand value of your new boat though :)

Exactly my thoughts. Couldn’t see any way to back out gracefully and didn’t want the risk of waiting.

Congratulations on the new boat, And well done to premier and dealer being realistic in these difficult times, Not sold the Hunton yet and obviously do not think will either at the moment , Will use it again once we are able to get out boating,
