I have a weep from top/bottom of the return banjo fitting on one of the injectors. The other is fine.In the WS manual it shows no crush washers between the mating surfaces. (No 12 in the diagram.) Should there be? I have replaced washers #16

If you haven't already, check the spill pipe hasn't got a split which could be caused by vibration. that's what happened to me, many years ago.
I'll check the lines again with blue paper, but it only appears to be weeping when the engine stands for a while after being run.

That's odd. Joint between hard metal surfaces with no washers? Then there is the nut above with a way out via the thread...
Should be no pressure in the return line, so little sealing required. But, couple of obvious probs.

No - there shouldn't be. The banjo is brass and should seal to the steel of the injector top. It has an annular groove in it's underside so that it can collect leak -off from the small hole in the injector, top face. I guess that when the components get old or over stressed the two rings of brass don't both seal. I had the same problem as you do, on both my injectors. I tried grinding the banjo surfaces but that didn't work for me. I fixed the leak by making up two special copper washers with a strategically placed small oval hole to allow leak-off fuel to pass. You have to be very careful when you assemble, to ensure the hole is correctly positioned. Having got my two injectors leak free, I've very carefully left them undisturbed!
