I need to set up a website at work for a not for profit group.
Any one know where I can get a content mgt wotsit from.
Cheers

I've recently started using www.wordpress.org and have realised that it is far more than blog software. I was looking for a CMS to manage all the help pages on my website and I now expect to extend my blog using Wordpress to do this.

Don't use wordpress.com - this is a a simpler system for bloggers hosted by wordpress. The self hosted wordpress.org version is much more versatile and I've found it easy to use.

So many people use it so the forums and support are excellent.

Crikey it all looks a bit complicated. Will I need any other progs downloaded? Mentions PHP. Seem to remember my web chap saying 123 reg didi not support php. Any surprises I need to be aware of?

Yep have had a play with it and now use it with my students to help them create sites etc and explore HCI /communication issues . Found it very straightforward and easy for others to use when editing content as its important to remember not to have an interface that's too complex for the enduser I haven't explored all the features as the section of course I taught just covered an introduction to CMS software
