Webasto insulation,"now pay attention"
Hi all,
i need to insulate the heating duct in order to reduce air temp to the area that i want to fit a new inverter.
The area where said inverter is to be fitted has heat duct going through it and gets quite warm this will in turn reduce inverter efficiancy any ideas??

There is a specific product for insulating heating ducts... intended to keep the heat in the pipe for more efficient heating rather than protecting equipment near the tubing but I'm sure it will have the same effect... its called thermoduct.. Knowing boat stuff its probably expensive and you could probably jury rig something much cheaper but if you have a few quid or only a little area to protect that might be the way to go... cheers Iain

I used an aluminium foil bubble wrap on a roll and sealed it on with duct tape. Works a treat, and has improved heat flow to the ducts rather than heat the lockers. This was from Homebase or similar.
This was about a tenner a roll, and I used 3 rolls on a 5 outlet installation onn my 35 foot.
The thermoduct is spliffingly excellent, does a better job, and will cost you over 10 times as much.
