Many on here will have seen in the past discussions on what paint to use on a wood boat.

There are and will always be several different opinions on this matter, personally I have always used Dulux Weathershield and I have to say that I have been very pleased with the results on Little Ship. It has lasted approx 5 years but she now needs a new coat of paint.

By chance earlier this year I came across International 10 year door paint, so I purchased a small can for test purposes. I have to say that I was fairly pleased with the test piece so I decided to paint the hull with International this year.

I put the top coat on LS this past week and it looks very smart indeed. It has an almost plastic feel to it when cured, I don’t know if it will be as long lasting as Dulux but from an ease of application (brush) and finish I am very pleased.

To all those that I advised Weathershield to, I still stand by my opinion of it's quality........but it may change very shortly :)

This paint was applied in less than perfect conditions (VERY COLD) although I was inside a shed.

I just thought somebody may be interested.

Tom

PS This is the paint.
