Has anybody checked the weather for the weekend? The BBC is giving sunshine all the way for Cowes and Southampton but the inshore forecast is grim. Should we just stay to the edge of the Solent?

According to metweb, 5/6 this afternoon going to NW 4/5 Sat dropping to 2s and 3s for Sunday.

Theyr.net paints a similar picture.

So I'll be going fishing on Sunday.

Forecasts have been varying a bit over the last couple of days, which means that the best one will probably be when I look out of the window tomorrow morning.

Most seem to think the ridge will pass over us Sat/Sun with another low due later on Sunday. The current low should be gone from the Solent by lunchtime, leaving showers. Most seem to say NW dropping in strength for Saturday, probably F4 or less (Theyr and xcweather say F3-4), some showers possible. The inshore forecast for Saturday (Met office website) gives NW 2-3, variable later).
F2-3 by Sunday, if you're lucky, backing to the West but not picking up until Monday.
