What a rubbish season. Every time I get to go on my boat its awful weather. Meant to be going down on Friday after not being on board for 3 weeks. But its F4-6 possibly 7 and a shed load of rain.

Worst season of weather so far for me. What an expensive lump of GRP I am paying tons of pounds a month to keep.

Thats a bit unfair. We find we will get at least one good day out of a weekend out on the water even if it means getting there and / or back in less than perfect weather. You have to take the rough with the smooth.

Nah, it’s been rubbish

If your still planning your Channel Islands and Brittany trip looks like the winds are easing after Saturday .
We are back out in Jersey next Friday so like you are keeping an eye on the weather.
Keep heading south !! We’ve gone North Wales, South Coast and now Jersey since last September and are enjoying exploring the French coast , who knows where’s next? It certainly won’t be in a northerly direction, and having got into the groove with flying out to the boat the Med would be the obvious choice .
That’s the beauty of a floating holiday home , relocating is easy
Good luck with your weather window , keep the faith
Cheers

From one Targa 40 owner to another, you may wish to read this (or at least the first post, it's a very long thread) :D:D

I agree, Welsh Med :encouragement: Just a few from the last 3 weekends. Rough with the smooth. Most had a F6 somewhere in there.

Looks lovely. My problem is that with work and family commitments, when I do get the time to go on the boat, the UK weather has been getting in the way. Limited dates are a lottery when boating, and I havent been winning of late.

I'm off on my Brittany trip in mid August so I am praying to the weather gods.

Good luck :encouragement:
Our policy is to always go out unless it's plain and obvious it's going to be wall to wall misery. Brit weather is 4 seasons in a day (I can say this as an immigrant) so that means every day has 50% good weather somewhere in the cruising grounds. Just got to find it and exploit it.

I sympathise with this completely! But trust me, one day soon you'll be anchored in a gorgeous bay after a great run down the coast following a wonderful night on board in the cozy cabin, and as you gaze out across the calm water in the warm sunshine with a glass in your hand, you'll suddenly realise that it was worth every ton every month! Happens to me every year..!

just had 10 days on the boat, wall to wall sun and light winds, only complaints actually its been too hot. Got another 9 days booked mid August... English weather... just the luck of the draw.

Hear hear Bruce!
It all depends on your appetite. If we wait for the perfect weather, it may never come.
Friday afternoon/evening does look pretty miserable. But we have a 36 hour window from Saturday am that looks good. Lock up you loot, Port Dinorwic pirates will be heading north! :encouragement:

My problem is a little odd but while the weather is great (just spent this morning on the water) the best weather is on the weekend:(!!

Can't be that bad Jonathan, we have just had the bimini up for 10 days solid and it will be going back up at the weekend :encouragement: . Avoiding the worst of the wind just means very early starts or late evening trips.

Mr Kennedy, we are going to fall out
Stop showing Peeps how good North Wales is
Let them drink prosecco (whatever that is) and eat cake in the Med!
Else I will bash your pontoon!
:p

It is my mission this year to get you to join us for an evening on the hook and regale us with stories of daring and comedy over a beach fire with a bottle of port or whiskey to lubricate the vocal chords.

On behalf of BruceK and Myself I apologse for the 'Fwed Dwift' however it's all about enjoying our boating whatever the weather and wherever you are
Swot I say, innit!

:D :encouragement: Consider it a date. It will be good to have you out with the group. Organise raiding and boarding parties on the tenders. There's always a party boat with the group to plunder.
