Weak Stainless Steel or Strong winds in SOF

Incidentally, what's the size of the lines? If the shackle is 14mm, I probably underestimated also them, with my previous 22-24mm guess...

I forgot to measure the lines, but I guess they orriginally were 25...30 mil,

but when I arrived at the boat last sunday, all lines in use where much thinner then 3 weeks ago

Looking at the last photo it appears that there is corrosion in the fracture, ie crevice corrosion ie it failed over some time possibly months or years.

Small crack creeping ?
