Been there! I was once offered a fairly standard dry powder extinguisher in a Gosport chandlery for the princely sum of £97.50.
When I asked why it was so expensive I was given a load of guff about it being specially 'marinised' to withstand the harsh enviroment of a boat.
Left it in the shop and bought the identical model extinguisher in caravan and camping place for £11.99
At the end of the day, people will continue to ask silly prices as long as there are people prepared to pay them.
How do UK prices compare with prices elsewhere in the EU?
Perhaps there's a case for the Chandlery cruise as well as the booze cruise /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
