I'm beginning to become addicted to the Banggood website! My latest purchase was a waterproof 8mm endoscope with a 5m semi-rigid cable leading to a rechargeable WiFi unit. The 8mm camera has adjustable LED lights on it. The WiFi sends images to your phone or computer; or you can wire it directly to the USB port of a computer. It arrived today, and the image quality is excellent! I'll be trying it on the boat next week. For £15, it could be an attractive addition to many boats, allowing sight of many out-of-the-way places.

Where are you thinking of poking it?

I bought one from Lidl a few years ago .... and not 2 hours ago, having removed the rubber grommets, I was sticking it into the sill cavities of a 22 year old car to see if there is any corrosion in there. Thankfully, it looks brand new, so tomorrow I will start spraying around the old Waxoyl with gay abandon. ;)

I got one similar some time ago and good for checking blockages in the heads discharge pipe. No not my discharge pipe.

Mine only has the USB which is a bit restrictive.

I like the questions,:D

would this product be good for a DIY colonoscopy?
A :
with a closest focus of 1.5 inches, this is way too far a distance to see polups and lesions going down the colon.
For a real colonoscopy borescope, it has to focus to at least 1cm from the light source.
tjcooper see less

8mm diameter camera would be painless but dont go for the 5 metre version - the large bowel is 1.5 metres long!!:ambivalence:

Careful, the thought police will ban you!:D

Friend had one connected to his phone. Worked well, was able to check anodes etc under water when taped to a pole. Then he used it to check the bottom of the fuel tanks for black stuff. Can only see about 5cm when at bottom of tank but it did the job. Problem was it never worked again, so diesel must affect it. So don't be using it in your fuel tank. Unless it was coincidence.

Just looked at the specs of yours versus mine. Yours has a short focal length for getting in close mine has an up to 500mm focal length, http://go.skimresources.com/?id=635...tz=-60&xuuid=f46fd92f57751cfce0ef2792d6f55065 chosen for propeller inspection although here on the East Coast rivers I often have to wait for the clearer water on an ebb tide when the silt is falling but it is better for this job than the short focal length one (50mm) i tried first.

I bought one some time back. I first tried to use it to check the lay of halyards inside the mast. I had an idea they were twisted. Total failure. While the picture appeared OK I could not make sense of the video. Perhaps my own failing but I have not used it since. It would need a range of focus length and a zoom lens all adjustable remotely plus stearable lens for it to be any real use. Either that or I would need a lot of practice to use it on specific jobs. So to my mind not a good solution to problems. ol'will

I had a similar experience. I was able to pull a 15 metre one all the way to the top via a halyard entry point, but it was impossible to tell whether the halyards were twisted or not.
