Just be warned if you are tempted to buy the Panasonic digital camera from Dixons that they are delivered by DHL & have practically driven me nuts........maybe if you have got someone sitting around at home all day it is alright but otherwise consider where their collection depot is!

I liked the look of the Pentax Optios and Amazon have a WS80 at only £90 (!)

I have a WS80 which I paid £150 for. Ignore the duff reviews, it's the best compact I've ever used. Daughter (Nikon SLR user) was so impressed that I bought her one as well.

Mine replaced a Rollei X8 Sport, which was, frankly, rubbish. Slow, colour was awful.

The Pentax is very solid, has been dropped, washed. 1cm Macro is incredible. Images are very good.

My compact camera buying criteria start with a lens that doesn't move and is waterproof. Wrecked a lovely Canon Ixus when the lens was constrained at switch on.

So at £90 - buy it, that is fantastic value.
