Waterlock Mounting for raw water cooled engine

I have a 20hp raw water cooled engine with a cylindrical stainless steel waterlock 7 in dia x 9 in long. It will be clamped to the hull/ bulkhead using a large jubilee clip. Under normal circumstances what temperature is the body of the waterlock going to be? From the engine manifold there will be about a 1.5 metres of flex rubber exhaust tube to the inlet of the waterlock.

I think Vetus state their plastic waterlock should not exceed 70 C.

Mine is 0.2m from the exhaust elbow of a 23 hp Volvo MD11c. Yesterday I measured 50 C with an infra red thermometer on the outside of the plastic after 5 and 10 minutes at full ahead.
