A tradesman recently appeared on this forum trying to peddle his wares, consisting of waterless shampoos, etc. [See here]. Of course the fellow was immediately detected by our vigilant ground staff and sent on his way with a well-aimed, and doubtless well-deserved, kick up the backside.

Having suffered some financial reverses in recent years, as a result of falling into the hands of unscrupulous userers in the City, the 200 foot, fully staffed steam yacht has had to go and I find myself temporarily having to slum it in a small sailing vessel with no "proper facilities". Some means of keeping one's hair clean without water would be useful, so I would like to know - does this stuff work?

So sorry to hear of your financial reversal. Worry not a solution is at hand.

'Soda and Oatmeal Dry Shampoo

There are always going to be days when you don't have time to wash your hair, but all is not lost. Whip up the following ingredients and keep them handy. It will give you at least one day's grace.
1 cup of ground oatmeal
1 cup of baking soda

Combine ingredients and then transfer into a clean jar.

How to Use:

Massage a little into the oiliest parts of your hair and allow the mixture to absorb the oil. To remove, brush and then shake the hair. That is pretty much it. I have used dry shampoos for years and they are perfect for that day when you don't have time to shampoo, or you simply don't feel like it.'

Don't know about the hair, but forget the "Bathing Wipes" at £3.75 for 8. You can get about 250 baby wipes for the same price - enough to keep all your other parts pristine for a whole season! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
