It's Cowes fireworks on Friday...is there a decent place to watch it from the mainland shore? The nearer to Hamble village the better, and easily accessible by car ideally.

Thanks!

No.

Calshot or Lepe beach are nearest, but at the distance from the mainland side its not really worth the bother.

PS
For fireworks not far from Hamble go to Bursledon Regatta display, 24th Aug.

As a Yorkshire man I thought it would be a really good idea to watch the fireworks , for free , from the mainland. In practice we had a pleasant enough evening but I found the fireworks at that range underwhelming. Next time I would take a boat over to the other side and suggest you do the same.

I would recommend watching them tomorrow from any pub anywhere really. You're likely to see about as much, and you won't get soaked (that's if they don't cancel it).

The weather forecast is now looking pretty bad. The organisers are saying that the "display will go ahead whatever the weather", which feels like a version of "never believe something until it is officially denied". With the rain that is forecast, I doubt you will see much from Cowes, nevermind the mainland.

The Typhoon display has already been cancelled.
