eh? Who do you ask if they can remember the password? Or the location of anything? Or if they have any cash? I can't see any way out of jimi's predicament,- other than a total one-shot name change of everything. Obviously, he'll have to choose something a bit more inventive than "jim" or "james" and even "jimmie" (ahem) won't do.

Will this be an all encompassing name change?
If so then will Mrs Jimi become Mrs all encompassing name change? If this is the case then she'll soon rumble his new name and password and anyway marriage is a no secrets from each other sort of a set up from what I keep getting told so if thats the case he'll have to cough up the new password.
I was sorry to have missed what was obviously such a brilliant weekend but I showed Dear Heart the pictures of Para holding his head. This was a big mistake as he is now branded a drunken irresponsible oik. Funny how a simple picture can change an impression. The picture from the Force 11 from Stornoway weekend shows an altogether mellower kind of Para - smiling contentedly in that rather nifty little piece of headgear he sports, cocked at the jauntiest of angles and for all the world an abstainer from the demon drink.
The Defence of Para culminated in the words "Its a good job you were working last weekend, I'd hate to see what you would have got up to...I still remember the traffic cone" (a rather snidey reference to a previous liaison I had when they were repairing the road outside the Village Hall and I thought it would be a good idea.....)
Anyway Jim - rather than a password, I think a padlock.

Re: SWMBO-proofing your puter

You can set the puter to appear "knackered".

in front of empty screen, press the Prntsc button, which captures whatever is on screen in the clipboard.
Then start windows paint. Pres the paste button, to sshow the pic of the desktop. Now save this pic , say under the c drive will do. Close the program called Paint.

Now you use the "right click" anywhere in windows on an empty bit of screen.

First, set new wallpaper by selecting "properties" and then "background" and browse for your pic as saved in paint and select it when it come up on the screen.

now, again from rightclick on empty bit of screen, select properties again and "effects". tick the box marked "hide icons when viewed as a web page"

finally, right click on empty bit of windows screen and click "active desktop" and then select "view as a web page" .

now, you puter looks just as it did before - but non of the icons work. People who work on puters in offices can tell if their internal/external support peeps are donkeys are not cos this is a standard wind-up.

to undo, right click anywhere, select "active dektop" to unselect "view as a web page" Right click again, choose "properties" and then "effects" to untick "hide icons when viewed as a web page". Finally, choose the old wallpaper, again from properties and choose "background".

Quite swmbo proof. Except er she mite read this....
