I spent a lovely day on the boat yesterday.
Today is an at home day.
Tomorrow I am off to visit the boat I volunteer on as she is in a port near us.
No change to the plans. How about yourself.
We did have two amazing May Bank Holidays.

On the East Coast, we have strong winds forecast ... and for a change a southerly ..We are on board right now after a lovely sail yesterday.. I was planning a sail today. But the rain is the killer... go home and light a fire?

We see lots of empty slotshere in Island harbour where a visitor berth sellout was predicted. Tested our new leccy blanket last night, albeit on it's lowest setting, thinking of a trial run up of the ever spluttery too to blow the cobwebs away. currenly raining with gusty winds s-sw.

I wondered how many of those booked berths at Lymington remain empty as people have cried off ? Hopefully will be some space by Monday evening .

I was going to head out in the dinghy tonight to the boat for a week messing around the East Coast, however it'll be raining and dark by the time I get there and looks like it'll be blowing a bit. Postponed until Monday morning now. Early start in the morning a the 3hr drive.

It is still sort-of-OK outside at the moment but we had to cancel a get-together when others not unreasonably cried off. Yesterday we just had a top of the tide sail, and had the pleasure of reaching both out to Harwich and back again for the first time in ages in a year of easterlies.

Judging by Yarmouth harbour webcam the place is full so I suspect the same at Lymington.
Apart from the flukey winds, yesterday was a good day on the water so most will hunker down today and head back with the wind behind them tomorrow.

thanks for that - was hoping that as you say there is some exodus on Monday to create space but I do wonder if a degree of multiple booking operates at some locations . Yarmouth is probably rocking by now however does have a shortage of quality eateries with space so always think Lym is a better choice personally.

Weather permitting we hope to be heading that way tomorrow so fingers crossed there is space somewhere!
Don't know about Lymington but Poole Quay marina seem to get a number of "no shows" but I think as long as you cancel before 3pm there isn't a charge

Swapped my extra day off from Friday to Tuesday and had just about our best ever channel crossing yesterday. F4 WNW and sunshine all the way. Lots of English boats arrived in Cherbourg yesterday evening and hiding from the weather today. But it looks fine to go back late tomorrow or on Tuesday. Far from a washout I'd say.

Doing good thanks. Bunch of minor issues getting sorted, like a new bowroller to take a decent anchor instead of the baby ship's one in a hawse pipe fitted from new in 1986 and now a new fridge freezer, due here Tuesday. although ordering same has frightened the old one into working a bit, still not well enough though. Both loos rebuilt and working 100%. All normal stuff really getting any new acquisition into shape. Oh and still waiting on getting the registration change to us done but also now well in hand now someone competent at the broker's office is involved. Have heating on today which has put the link battery monitor lights into the red, not quite sure why yet as we are plugged in and charging 24/7.

Cherbourg is like an extension of Port Solent on these occasions isn't it? Lots of wet English people waiting for time to go out to dinner.
