Any tips because I am doing this as a single-hander these days.
Try the American method of washing clothes. I used it on an ocean passage and it works. Buy Ammonia from a hardware store. Add a cupful of ammonia to a bucket of warmish water and put your dirty clothes in. Give them a good old soak and a bit of a stir round.
Here's the clever bit - simply wring out the wet clothes by hand and hang them out to dry. No need to rinse because the ammonia evaporates - thus saving water, so very useful on passage.
The ammonia is hugely effective at killing smelly bacteria, which is what washing is mostly about. But it's not a detergent so don't expect everything to come out dazzling white.
