I brought a new boat up the channel in early to mid April and intended going to either Boulogne or Gravelines on my way. Because when I left Brexit timing was unsettled, I had my Q Flag and all the documentation I might require on my new boat. But a strong SE wind at Dungeness put me off Boulogne and then a forecast NE that would have spoilt my return from Gravelines prevented my going to France at all.
Don’t know if they "organise" it. But it is something that does seem to happen.
It was my first ever cross channel trip in Djinn Seng. The place was heaving. We could almost walk across the harbour.
