WARNING Barry Locke Reefing and Rigging being used for SCAM emails

I got this email this morning. It looks as if Barry Locke's email list has been stolen and being used for SCAM emails. I used Barry to buy rope from about a year ago, hence why I am on his list.



Email Text as follows.

I hope this e-mail finds you =0Awell. I'm presently in Manila,Philippines o= n an urgent business seminar =0Atrip but I'm in a fix; I was mugged and I l= ost my money, bank cards =0A& mobile phone in the course of the attack, but= I'm so glad I wasn't=0A hurt. I=E2=80=99ve immediately contacted my bank f= or help and to stop my =0Acards.=C2=A0 Meanwhile I would like to borrow som= e money {=C2=A31,500} from you or=0A any amount you can afford to lend me a= nd=C2=A0 I'll refund you back upon my =0Aarrival back home next weekend.

HA Ha I hope you helped the poor chap out . You own me a keyboard I've just spilt my coffee over mine .
 
Classic scam. I hope someone has notified Barry Locke so he can change his email passwords and warn his mailing list.

Last time I saw it it was from a vicar whose email had been hacked. Presumably because they are seen as trustworthy and unworldly characters, vicars seem to be regular targets for this kind of thing.

Perhaps the scammers hope it includes god's email address!
