On leaving Portsmouth this morning I was treated to an escort y the above ship, I was sticking close in within the small boat channel and steaming up along side me comes the Tyne, apart from having the rest of the fairway she has to get so close I could count the rivets in her side. And if the MOD read this she is missing some in her rear quarter.

Do they really need to get so close especially with the swell and weather conditions today, It was really touch and go if I returned to Chichester
But enjoyed overtaking her and buzzing her pack when clear of the entrance although I think the captain didn’t approve, the hand signals spoke louder than words

You did give him the correct sound signals before you overtook him didnt you?
I hope you saluted her as you passed.
