Want to improve the condition of my toes!!!

Hello all, I am looking for advice on how to improve the condition of my toe rails.
Is there anything that would brighten them up?
Is painting/spraying them an option? although I would be concerned that it would look amaturish.

It doesn't look too bad to me. I like the look of well used yacht fittings winches and other Al parts. So paint it if you must or even remove for black anodising but I still reckon leave it as is. olewill
Showroom finish is for cars. the rugged look is better for boats.

IMHO painting aluninium does not last and will chip in that position.

The best option IMHO is to get them re anizided but that will invilve removing then and cleaning off any sealent use to seal the joints.

The only option IMHO without removing is to clean off the black anadizing by using 200 - 300 grit water paper to get to silver gray aluminium colour but this also removes the little protection the anadizing would give.

The hull and superstructure of a frends aluminium yacht was finished this way and took a long time.
