Walton Pier Weather Station

it's amazing how many people go aground on the sands and have engine failure. No other call outs to yachts, were there?

If I called out thet lifeboat every time I had engine (not to mention electric) failure and went aground, I would be one of their top customers.
Although they did come out to me on the Gunfleet one time when they thought I was in distress, but I had gone aground deliberately and was sunbathing reading a book on the foredeck when they turned up out of nowhere.

Bless them all, they are a comforting thought in times of (dis)stress.

Anyone noticed that the temperature on the weather station isn't working? It has shown 13c for the last two days. No way! It's bloody freezing out there!

Thanks for the link. As a one-time Levington mooring-holder and now at the shallow end of Maldon, I've sailed past Walton too many times to remember and always welcome sight of the pier-end and the AWLB there.
As another says, reading the 'Callout' logs makes very sobering reading.

Those who have looked at this regularly will have seen that they put a disclaimer on saying that the temp sensor was faulty.

It has obviously been fixed and now show outside temp and windchill readings
