Walliams Swim on BBC1-Thursday 9pm

Caught the end of it , just in time to see my little acre of paradise on telly !

I thought a nice touch at the end as the credits were rolling was the usual 'Thanks to : The Environment Agency , The Port of London Authority , and The Lock-Keepers of the River Thames' ...

Gave me a warm glow inside.

Amazing effort. But, did anyone notice he seemed to finish one night in Windsor upstream of Romney lock and started the next day from below Old Windsor lock?

It is a tv show though.

Bit like Bear Grill being in a 5 star hotel at night instead of a tent.
So would I mind you :)

I've no doubt he did swim through Datchet just that that the film of getting in at Romney wasn't as usable as that at Old Windsor. It's just the reality of cutting together a programme; geographical reality will always lose out to aesthetic considerations.

The continuity in general was all over the shop, there was another bit where we had a lovely overhead shot of Pangbourne and the next moment we were 10 miles back up river at Wallingford.

There were at least two other occasions where successive shots were geographically the wrong way round.

Something for everyone - even the anoraks...
