Kuranda Marine, forge road, Whaley Bridge, High Peak, Derbyshire SK23 7HY. Tel 01663 733343 or www.kurandamarine.co.uk. Talked to them couple of years ago and they seamed to know what they where doing. How do you find the unit? I considered one of their cookers but was worried about how complex they where & consiquent problems of servicing & reliability

Dear Roland
Many thanks for your reply, most helpful, I will give them a ring and see
what they can do for us.

We bought 'Quest' in November 2000, and she came with the Wallas heater
already on board. We moved on board in April 2001, and it was very cold at
times. The heater (a Wallas 1600) was not too bad once it got going, but it
was difficult to start, and used a lot of power while starting up. Once
running it was not nearly so power hungry - though it had a noticeable
effect on the batteries, and it produced a reasonable rise in cabin
temperature for a small use of parrafin. The main problem apart from its
reluctance to get going, is that the hot air outlet is at head level, when
ideally we want it by our feet! That could be overcome, but I want to see
if it can be made easier to start before playing with it.
