My blown air heater isnt chucking out heat. It is paraffin fueled, there is fuel in the tank and apparently fuel in the feed line. The blown air bit works (ie there is positive air coming out of the vents) plus the light for the vent/fan on the switch comes on (green light) but the light on the switch for the heating part doesnt come on (red light). However, with the vent switched off the unit is making noise. Any ideas?

Is the fuel pump pulsing, a click about once per second? There's usually a filter on the end of the suction line, possibly blocked.
Make sure electrical connections are tight, the unit requires a few amps to light up, but very little to actually run.
I've found Kuranda very helpful on the 'phone, with good spares back-up.

David2452 of this forum is a Wallas service agent. He has been really helpful in trying to sort out a problem with our Wallas, on email. Send him a PM, and ask his advice. Be warned, though, the service costs a lot!

Situation so far - took the cover off to try and establish what the start voltage is (the battery using a voltmeter says 12.8v), got myself confused so did the man thing and hunted down the manual which says there is a rest button. Press that and the pump starts clicking and fuel through as I had the fuel return line unconnected. Red heat light came on after a few minutes and heat appeared. All Ok until I turned the vent switch on. After a few minutes the clicking stopped as did the heat. Suspect the fan is causing overheating. Will try kuranda for spares and their view (thanks Roger) but any further thoughts? Thought I might try vaccing the fan to get dust out. EDIT - just spoken to a very helpful chap at Kuranda and I now know for sure that I am a certifiable numpty ...will come back to this tomorrow....

Hello, I recently acquired a boat in which there is a wallas 2400 heater unit, working on paraffin. But whatever I do, I cannot get it to work. When I flip the fan switch the green led goes on and then immediately dims a bit, but the fan doesn't turn on. When I flip the heater switch nothing happens. The unit is from the nineties, but has probably not seen many hours of runtime, thought it might need some cleaning, but the fan part is throwing me off... Winter is getting here fast, all help will be greatly appreciated!

If the LED dims, it might be that the 12v supply to the unit isn't. Try checking the wiring and any supply switches and fuse-holders etc. Does the pump tick? Is the over-heat trip set? There are copies of the owners' manuals on-line, with diagrams etc. If all else fails, the units are not too difficult to take apart but the only moving parts inside are the 2 small fan motors and the pump. There's also a circuit board. That might have failed if you're unlucky. Spares are not cheap. The older type external control unit is very simple, mine's home-made, overall my 1800 unit has been very reliable, they're good bits of kit.
