Hi all,
Trying to reinstate an old Walker Excelsior ships log. The only bit I'm now missing is the line and line weight. The line will be easy enough to replace but the weight?
Does any one have one for sale? Or the dimensions so I can find / make a replacement!
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Gavin

Yes that's right, it's the cone shaped sinker that you thread onto the line and fix a couple of feet in front of the propeller / spinner. I agree could be tricky to make something but worth a try!

Welcome to the forums!

The line weight (Walkers called it a "sinker") should be easy enough to make. It is conical at both ends, and has a screw to secure it in place on the line. The instructions said it should be placed 2 feet ahead of the rotator, and also noted that the sinker wasn't necessary below 7 knots. These pics may help.
