Looking to renew my memories on the River Deben this year, planning visting and taking along a Trailer Boat to re-explore the river, at a very slow pace, going up all the little creeks and waterways from Kingsfleet to Woodbridge, looking for Canonballs where I used to find them 60+ years ago, they are rather heavy so do not think that they will have travelled very far since, thats if nobody else has found them since I was there.

If I find any thinking of offering them to the Woodbridge Museum, anybody know if its the sort of item that they collect, or would collect if they knew that they were in the river; also I have a small collection of broken Clay pipes found on the Horse Sand at the Ferry 70 years ago, thinking of finding them in my storeage boxs and offering the Museum them; anybody know if its the sort of item that they would be interested in ?

Ah well i have not been afloat on the Deben for 60 years, so rather eagerly looking forward to it, bring on Summer eh ?

So my interest in the Waldringfield Boatyard, as a base for my boat adventures, any comments please ?

Thank you {:)#

The Deben is my Home river I have a swing mooring at Felixstowe Ferry where I will keep a 19 foot Bow Rider this year. I also use a rib and a sib in the river and out to sea. It is in my view a real jewle
I had no idea about the cannon balls though. I am often on the river and will keep an eye out for you this year. Have you a pic of the boat you will be using you could post

Hello
Mark runs Waldringfield in an extremely happy, efficient and thoughtful manner. He has helped me restore an old Kestrel which should be back in the water very soon. I share your interest in history.
Regards
Andy
